Sandra Seaton is a playwright and librettist. Her plays have been performed in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Cleveland, Ann Arbor, and East Lansing. Her libretto for composer William Bolcom's song cycle From the Diary of Sally Hemings has been sung in such venues as the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C., the Herbst Theatre in San Francisco, and Coolidge Auditorium at the Library of Congress.
