ALUMNAE - HEDGEBROOK’S GREATEST LEGACY Alumnae are the heart and soul of Hedgebrook’s programming. Writers are transformed by their time here and we are committed to building an active, global network connecting them with each other, and with audiences all over the world. Over 1,000 women have been awarded a Hedgebrook residency since the Writers-in-Residence program debuted in 1988. Ranging in age from 18 to 83, past residents have come to Hedgebrook from across the United States, and 20 other countries so far*, representing a wide diversity of cultural histories, professional experiences, and writing genres. Some of our alumnae are world renowned even before they come to Hedgebrook; others have never been published. Go to the About Alumnae page to learn more about the fascinating women who have come to Hedgebrook, or to find links to some of their publications.
