Nearly 1,400 women have been awarded a Hedgebrook residency since the Writers in Residence program debuted in 1988. Ranging in age from 18 to 83, past residents have come to Hedgebrook from across the United States, and 20 other countries, representing a wide diversity of cultural histories, professional experiences, and writing genres.
