BIO: Gabriela Garcia Medina is a Cuban-American-British filmmaker. Her short films LITTLE CON LILI (2018), and THE 90 DAY PLAN (2019) won awards at national and international film festivals and are both available on HBOMax. Gabriela's short musical comedy BERTIE THE BRILLIANT (2021) is a collaboration with WarnerMedia's Project OneFifty, and will be touring film festivals in 2022.
Gabriela’s heist-family-comedy feature film LITTLE CON LILI is in development with Mandalay Pictures, Nuyorican Productions, and Netflix Studios, and her romantic musical comedy UN DREAM DE MEDIO SUMMER is in development with Marc Platt Productions and MACRO. 
Gabriela is a Hedgebrook Screenwriting Lab fellow (2016), a Film Independent Directing Lab fellow (2020), and a Directing mentee on Season 2 of Hulu’s THE GREAT (2021), and has been invited to participate in the AMPAS inaugural Film Accelerator Program (2022). Gabriela received her BFA from UCLA's School of Theater, Film, and Television (2001-2005) with a major in Theater, and a double minor in Chicano/a Studies and African American Studies. She holds two MFA degrees from California Institute of the Arts, in Acting, and Writing (2012-2015). 
Aside from being a filmmaker, Gabriela is a Spoken Word poet, and has been performing since 2007. Gabriela is represented by Jairo Alvarado at Redefine Management, and Valarie Phillips at A3 Artists Talent Agency.
