Bio: Katherine Paul (Black Belt Eagle Scout) is a Swinomish and Iñupiaq musician, composer, and multidisciplinary artist. Performing under the name Black Belt Eagle Scout, she has released three acclaimed albums and toured internationally, bringing her powerful guitar-driven sound and stories of identity, healing, and resilience to stages from DIY venues to Lincoln Center and Pitchfork Festival. Her work uplifts Native and Indigiqueer voices, often weaving land-based sound design and collaborative visual elements into performance. Beyond the stage, Katherine mentors emerging artists, partners with Native organizations, and creates spaces for community and representation in indie rock. Her collaborations span visual artists like Jeffrey Gibson and filmmaker Evan Benally Atwood, with her music featured in projects such as Reservation Dogs. Through sound, she honors heritage, queerness, and connection, offering music as both personal expression and community care.
