BIO: Hedgebrook alumna Shelby Edwards is an emerging writer with publications in Sky Island Journal and the poetry anthology So Long from the Dead Reckoning Press, among others. She holds an MFA in Creative Writing from Oregon State University, an MBA from the University of Washington, and an MS in Environmental Studies from the University of Oregon. She comes to writing with extensive corporate experience in crisis and risk management helping organizations navigate disaster events and anticipate and adapt to change. Shelby also spent over 20-years in the United States Army Reserve on and off active duty, mostly in Civil Affairs managing extensive projects and redevelopment efforts. Her time in service includes tours in Afghanistan and Bosnia. She and her two good dogs currently happily reside on the edge of the Salish Sea, you’ll find them in the garden at the end of the lane.
